Dakota and Laurel both met during their college years at West Liberty University. While Dakota was majoring in Criminal Justice, Laurel was majoring in Marketing which lead to them not having any classes together and eventually leads to them not even knowing who each other were.

One day in West Liberty University’s Cafe, Laurel recognized someone she has never seen before on campus. Since West Liberty University is a small school, Laurel had to get to the bottom of who this mystery man was. She then started asking her friends if she knew who he was. Laurel eventually found out who Dakota was, and the rest is history.

On September 10th, 2022, it wasn’t just any other day for Dakota and Laurel. This day was special to them as it was the exact date that they met another one another in college. Dakota knew this day was going to be the day he proposed to her because of the special meaning behind it.
Dakota and Laurel along with three of their closest friends, Jessyca Brady, Baylee Gittings, and DaJuan Jones, decided to make a small trip to Pittsburgh to enjoy the city together. They traveled to The Frick Museum and The Incline before the proposal happened. Jenna Hill and Nick Coulter set up the overlook with decorations to help Dakota with the proposal, and they were waiting for 3 hours until the group reached the overlook. Once the group made it to the overlook, it took Laurel a minute to fully realize that the proposal was actually for her instead of someone else.


The group then traveled to the Grandview Saloon on the top of Mount Washington to celebrate the engagement of Dakota and Laurel.
